Take your first step toward a lucrative career as a medical coder! You'll learn how to find medical codes for any disease, condition, treatment, or surgical procedure. We'll discuss how medical coding works in the real world, and then we'll go over the different types of codes you'll need to understand to describe every aspect of a patient's visit and report that information to an insurance company. By the end of this course, you'll know how to find your way through both the CPT manual and the ICD-9-CM manual, and you'll be well on your way to becoming a medical coder.

Jennifer Della'Zanna has written and edited courses and study guides on medical coding, transcription, and using technology in health care. Jennifer is a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders and the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity.

Important: The online courses are 6 weeks long and two lessons are released per week (on Wednesday and Friday). You do not need to be present when the lessons are released. The online courses require a strong commitment from each student as they are designed to pick up where our two hour seminars leave off. Once you enroll, you will be sent an E-mail on how to select a username and password for your online class.
